02 — Our story
Decades of dedication to community living.
In 1994, our founder, Scott, seized an unexpected opportunity to buy a Greater Boston Properties — a small property management company. In 2017, Boston Properties merged with Barrington Management, and the two became BRIGS.
We started with four employees managing 200 units. From a tiny start of four, we’ve grown — just a bit — into a team of 120 caring for 14,500 apartments and condos. What hasn’t changed, and never will, is our mission: to create well-run spaces people want to live in.
And our M.O. — offering personalized service at a sufficient operations and hassle-free living for everyone. We’re happy you’re here.
03 — Leadership
Meet our executive team.
The people steering BRIGS bring decades of property management, finance, and operations experience — and an unmistakable commitment to the residents and boards we serve.
Scott Wolf
Chief Executive Officer
Scott’s path to property management was anything but planned. In 1994, while working as an agent at Huntington Realty, the Northeastern University grad received a surprise offer to buy Greater Boston Properties, the small management company whose apartments Huntington Realty rented out. Scott went for it. Greater Boston Properties merged with Barrington Management in 2017, and so began BRIGS. The Portland, Maine, native has plenty to be proud of, but he’s most passionate about his people. “We’ve seen many staff members grow within the company, and we’ve tried very hard to maintain a family atmosphere,” he says. Today, no two days on the job are the same, and that’s precisely why Scott — who holds a Professional Community Association Manager certification and an unrestricted contractor’s license in Massachusetts — loves it. Off the clock, the 17-time marathoner heads out hiking in New Hampshire’s White Mountains and skiing New England’s slopes.
Andy Mirsky
Chief Operating Officer
Andy became part of the BRIGS family over 20 years ago, after serving groomsman duty alongside Scott at a mutual friend’s wedding. Scott was a new business owner, and Andy — who had worked renting apartments in Boston and managing shopping centers — craved change. The rest, Andy says, is history. For the past 15 years, Andy has helmed operations for BRIGS, a behind-the-scenes role he relishes. “I’m surrounded by intelligent people with great ideas and energy, so it’s hard not to enjoy what I do,” he says. Bonus: “I have my hand in most of the company’s inner workings, and I have the opportunity to affect positive change and improve people’s work lives.” Andy loves spending free time with family and friends, playing his guitars and enjoying a good stout anytime he’s relaxing.
Sheila Kemple
Chief Financial Officer
After graduating from Boston College with a degree in accounting and, later, earning her CPA, Sheila spent several years working in a variety of settings, including one of the world’s largest international accounting firms. But her most cherished role of all: mom. Driven by a passion for family, Sheila eventually stepped away from work to raise the four kids she shares with her husband. Eleven years later and ready to rejoin the workforce, Sheila found her way to BRIGS. There, she took on a part-time accounting role and worked her way to CFO, thanks in large part to a flexible and supportive environment. “I worked remotely right out of the gate. That was highly unusual then, but Scott took a chance on me,” Sheila says. “It was a leap of faith on both sides, and it worked.” Outside office hours, Sheila’s favorite escape is The Cape Cod National Seashore.
